General Situation
Under the influence of an anticyclone aloft, the weather will be mainly fine and persistently very hot over the coast of Guangdong in the next few days, but showers and thunderstorms triggered by high temperatures will also affect the region. An area of low pressure may develop within the broad trough of low pressure over the central and northern parts of the South China Sea to the vicinity of Luzon in the latter part of this week. However, there are uncertainties in its development and movement, with a higher chance of moving towards the coast of southern China early next week. There will be more showers with squally thunderstorms over the region. Besides, the area of low pressure now over the western North Pacific to the east of the Philippines will develop slightly and move in the general direction of the seas south of Japan in the next couple of days.
