Kia (KIA) adds another strong contender to Hong Kong’s automotive market with the official debut of its all-new pure electric MPV model, the KIA PV5, offering consumers an electric vehicle choice that combines practicality with technological sophistication. This model made its first public appearance at IMXpo 2025 Hong Kong Motor Show and was introduced by Crown Motors, with deliveries expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
The KIA PV5 offers two main versions: a 5-seater private car and a commercial passenger van, catering to different user needs. The vehicle is built on the group’s latest E-GMP.S dedicated electric van chassis, featuring spacious dimensions—length of 4,695mm, width of 1,895mm, and height of 1,923mm—with a wheelbase of 2,995mm, providing passengers with comfortable interior space.

In terms of powertrain, the PV5 is equipped with a 71.2kWh lithium-ion battery and a single-motor front-wheel-drive system, delivering maximum output of 163 horsepower and 250Nm of torque. According to WLTP standards, it offers a single-charge range of up to 412 kilometers, making it ideal for daily commutes and short trips. Charging convenience is also a highlight, with support for 150kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

The private car version appeals to consumers with its luxurious features, including standard dual electric sliding doors, a smart electric tailgate, synthetic leather seats, and front-row electric adjustable seats (with heating and ventilation functions). Additionally, it offers advanced tech features such as a 360-degree surround-view camera, active safety assistance systems, a 7.5-inch digital instrument panel, and a 12.9-inch central touchscreen. This model is launched under the “One-for-One Replacement” scheme, with an indicative price starting at HK$369,800. A 7-seater version may also be introduced in the future, giving consumers more options.
The commercial passenger van version focuses more on practicality, offering 2-seater or 5-seater configurations, with an indicative price starting at HK$299,800. As an electric commercial vehicle, it also enjoys exemptions from first registration tax, making it particularly attractive to small and medium-sized businesses and logistics industries. Though features are simplified—such as the removal of electric sliding doors and tailgate—safety configurations like active safety systems and the 360-degree surround-view camera are retained. In terms of load capacity, the 2-seater version offers a maximum load of 665kg, while the 5-seater version provides 455kg.
The launch of the KIA PV5 not only showcases Kia’s innovation in the EV market but also offers Hong Kong consumers a pure electric MPV that combines practicality, technology, and cost-effectiveness. Whether for families seeking comfort or businesses prioritizing efficiency, this model meets diverse needs.
