General Situation
Under the persistent influence of an anticyclone aloft, the weather will be generally fine and very hot over southern China in the next couple of days. The area of low pressure now over the seas east of the Philippines will move closer to the vicinity of Luzon in the next couple of days and develop gradually into a tropical cyclone. It will move across the central and northern parts of the South China Sea afterwards, in the general direction of the vicinity of the coast of western Guangdong to the eastern part of Hainan Island. However, its intensity remains uncertain. It will be windy with squally showers over the coast of southern China over the weekend. Seas will be rough with swells. With the anticyclone aloft strengthening again, showers will ease off gradually and the weather will improve over the coast of Guangdong on the Mid-Autumn Festival and the day after.
