General Situation
Under the influence of an anticyclone aloft, the weather will be mainly fine and persistently very hot over the coast of Guangdong in the next couple of days, but showers and thunderstorms triggered by high temperatures will also affect the region. An area of low pressure may develop within the broad trough of low pressure over the central to northern part of the South China Sea to the vicinity of Luzon in the latter part of this week. However, its subsequent movement and intensity remain uncertain, with a higher chance of moving towards the western coast of Guangdong and the vicinity of Hainan Island. There will be more showers with squally thunderstorms over the coast of Guangdong early next week. With the anticyclone aloft strengthening again, the weather will improve with showers easing off over Guangdong midweek next week. Besides, the tropical cyclone now over the seas east of the Ryukyu Islands will move in the general direction of the southern part of Japan in the next couple of days.
