General Situation
An anticyclone aloft will affect the coast of southern China in the next couple of days. It will be very hot during the day over the region. The area of low pressure now over the seas east of the Philippines is expected to move across Luzon tomorrow. It will move across the central to northern part of the South China Sea and develop gradually over the weekend, in the general direction of the southern part of Hainan Island and the seas south of it. There are uncertainties in its intensity and movement over the South China Sea. Under the influence of the low pressure system, there will be squally showers and thunderstorms over the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong during the weekend to early next week. There will be swells. A broad trough of low pressure will bring unsettled weather to the central to the northern part of the South China Sea midweek next week. Besides, Tropical Cyclone Lingling will move across the vicinity of Kyushu of Japan today.
