General Situation
An anticyclone aloft will dominate southern China in the next few days. The weather will be persistently very hot over the region. A southerly airstream will bring showers to the coast of Guangdong early next week. With the anticyclone aloft shifting to the north, showers will increase gradually over the region in the middle and latter parts of next week. The area of low pressure now over the northeastern part of the South China Sea will remain relatively weak tomorrow. Tropical Cyclone Podul over the western North Pacific will move westwards in the general direction of the vicinity of Taiwan and develop gradually in the next few days. However, its subsequent movement and intensity remain uncertain, but it will have a higher chance of moving towards the vicinity of the coast of Fujian and Guangdong.
