General Situation
Under the influence of an anticyclone aloft, the weather will be persistently very hot over Guangdong tomorrow. Showers triggered by high temperatures will also affect the region. Meanwhile, a broad area of low pressure over the seas east of the Philippines will develop into a tropical cyclone. It is expected to move towards the vicinity of Luzon in the latter part of this week, enter the northern part of the South China Sea afterwards and intensify gradually, edge closer to the coast of southern China. However, there are uncertainties over its movement and intensity. Under the influence of its outer subsiding air, the weather will be extremely hot over Guangdong. The tropical cyclone will bring squally showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea during the weekend to early next week. There will be swells. Under the influence of a broad trough of low pressure, there will still be a few showers over the region midweek next week.
