The area of low pressure now over the central and northern parts of the South China Sea has a chance to develop into a tropical cyclone today and will move towards the vicinity of the coast of western Guangdong to Hainan Island tomorrow. There will be showers and thunderstorms over the coast of southern China in the next couple of days. Under the influence of upper-air disturbances, the weather will remain unsettled over the coast of Guangdong during the weekend and early next week. With the strengthening of an anticyclone aloft, the weather will improve and it will be very hot over southern China midweek next week.
