At the 2025 Hong Kong International Motor Show, the Wuling Darion EV pure-electric seven-seater MPV successfully attracted widespread attention, bringing a highly appealing new option to the local family car market. With its outstanding practicality, rich configurations, and competitive pricing, this vehicle quickly became a focal point.

Boasting dimensions of 4,910 x 1,870 x 1,770mm and a wheelbase of 2,910mm, the Darion EV offers spacious and comfortable seating. The unique 2+2+3 seating layout includes ventilated electric captain’s chairs in the middle row, while the front and middle rows can even be combined into a bed, providing great convenience for family trips. The dual electric sliding doors and electric tailgate are thoughtfully designed, particularly catering to the needs of children and elderly passengers when entering and exiting the vehicle.
In terms of its powertrain, this electric MPV is no slouch. Equipped with a 69.2kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, its single-motor front-wheel-drive system delivers 150kW (approximately 204hp) and a maximum torque of 310Nm. According to CLTC standards, it offers an impressive range of 540km, fully meeting the demands of daily family use. Fast-charging capability adds to its practicality, with DC fast charging taking just 30 minutes to recharge the battery from 30% to 80%.

The technological features are equally impressive. An 8.8-inch digital dashboard and a 12.8-inch central touchscreen provide an intuitive user experience, while the cabin’s air-conditioning system includes PM2.5 air filtration. Safety-wise, six airbags, ESC stability control, and ADAS driving assistance systems offer comprehensive protection for passengers.
For value-conscious consumers, the Darion EV is undoubtedly an enticing option. With an original price of HK$308,800 and an early-bird discount of HK$50,000, the effective purchase price drops to just HK$258,800. Annual licensing fees are as low as HK$1,500, making it highly economical.
The test drive experience was also pleasantly surprising. Despite weighing over 2.4 tons, the acceleration is linear and brisk. Four driving modes (Eco, Standard, Sport, and Custom) and four levels of regenerative braking allow drivers to tailor the driving experience to their preferences. The chassis tuning leans toward comfort, with excellent road stability—though the cabin’s noise insulation could be improved.
The exterior design is sleek and understated, featuring LED headlights and taillights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a choice of four body colors (black, white, gray, and purple) to suit different tastes. The interior is warm-toned brown, balancing practicality and aesthetics.
For families seeking practicality, comfort, and affordability, the Wuling Darion EV is undoubtedly worth serious consideration. It not only meets daily commuting needs but also effortlessly handles long-distance travel, offering a fresh solution for modern family mobility.
