General Situation
Tropical Cyclone Matmo will move across the central and northern parts of the South China Sea in the next couple of days, in the general direction of the vicinity of Leizhou Peninsula to the eastern part of Hainan Island, and intensify gradually. There are uncertainties in its intensity. Under its influence, it will be windy with squally showers over the coast of southern China later tomorrow to Sunday. Seas will be rough with swells. With Matmo departing and dissipating gradually, the weather will improve over the coast of Guangdong at the Mid-Autumn Festival and on the day after. An anticyclone aloft is expected to cover southern China in the middle and latter parts of next week, and a broad trough of low pressure will bring a few showers to the central and northern parts of the South China Sea.
