General Situation
The tropical cyclone over the northeastern part of the South China Sea will edge closer to the coast of eastern Guangdong and intensify gradually today and tomorrow. Under the influence of the northeast monsoon, the tropical cyclone will then turn westwards, moving closer to the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary. It will be windy with squally showers and thunderstorms over the region in the next couple of days. With the tropical cyclone departing, the weather over Guangdong will improve briefly and will be very hot early next week. The other tropical cyclone over the western North Pacific to the east of the Philippines is expected to intensify significantly in the next few days, and enter the northern part of the South China Sea early next week. It will then edge closer to the coast of southern China. Under the influence of its broad circulation, the weather over the region will deteriorate significantly with winds strengthening again midweek next week. There will be heavy squally showers, thunderstorms and storm surge. Seas will be rough with swells.
